New Baby Card

On Thursday an old colleague of mine had a baby boy which they have named Rome. Here is the card that I made for her to celebrate his birth. The card is designed to look like a chest of drawers and was based on a card by Kate Martin.

This is the front of the card. The little handles are candi raised with foam pads. The bottom edge was cut using a stampin'up decorative label punch and the stamp set is Bundle of Love (also stampin' up)

Here is the inside where I added a little verse again from the bundle of love stamp set and punched out using the decorative label punch.

Here is a close up of the little baby items after they had been stamped, coloured and cut out. I think the teddy is my favourite.

Patchwork card

Here is a beautiful card that I made at the last of Kate's card classes that I went to. It is really pretty and fairly easy to make. You start by punching squares in lots of coordinating background papers and then glue them onto a spare piece of paper or card in the desired pattern. This was then put though a Sizzix big shot using the Top Note die. This was then mounted on a square of soft suede cardstock and decorated with a two layer butterfly with glitter for added detail before being attached to a cream card blank. The sentiment is punched out with a large oval punch and matted with a scalloped oval.

Long time no blog....

I can't believe how long it has been since my last blog! I have been so busy with my chocolates that I haven't had much time for card making until this week. Which is why my first project has been to make the invitations for my close friends wedding. I got the heart punch (Stampin' Up) a couple of weeks ago and have spent a couple of evenings punching hearts (400 in total!).
The most time consuming part was probably sticking the word peel off's on and getting them straight, but even that didn't take as long as I thought.
Here is a shot of some of them waiting for the glue sticking the hearts to dry.

And one a little closer up

Now I just need to print some inserts with the day's details on to go inside.
